THE PARABLE OF THE 

SOWER AND THE SEED

 

 

When Yeshua warned that "The Way", is straight and narrow, what he cautioned his followers was that we cannot attempt to carry the great weight of the doctrines of this world along with us in our walk with the Lord. In the writings of the fifth century monk John Cassian, he often quotes the scriptures as he explored the idea of who is even worthy of being given the opportunity of Walking in The Way in the Imitation of Christ: "Wherefore, as Scripture says, 'when you go forth to serve the Lord stand in the fear of the Lord, and prepare your mind' not for repose or carelessness or delights, but for temptations and troubles. For 'through much tribulation we must enter into the kingdom of God.' For 'strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be which find it.' Consider therefore that you belong to the few and elect; and do not grow cold after the examples of the lukewarmness of many: but live as the few, that with the few you may be worthy of a place in the kingdom of God: for 'many are called, but few chosen', and it is a 'little flock to which it is the Father's good pleasure to give' an inheritance. You should therefore realize that it is no light sin for one who has made profession of perfection to follow after what is imperfect" (Church Fathers, Nicene & Post-Nicene, Vol. 11, Page 467).

With great spiritual insight John Cassian wrote that it is "no light sin" for you to profess your allegiance to Messiah -- and to Messiah alone -- and yet, cling to, and follow after, the doctrines of carnal men. Yeshua said that he was our brother -- and we should imitate the manner in which he lived his life. But this was totally unacceptable to Constantine -- the man who killed his own wife and children, as well as the slaughter of an uncountable number of innocent men, women and children. Constantine desired to live as a heathen, worship as a Pagan, and inherit eternal life. So he made our elder brother Yeshua a god! The religious concept that was formalized by Plato, and later grafted into the religion of Messiah in the form of the doctrine of the Trinity, and edited into the very pages of the Bible itself by the alteration of the original words that the Father spoke at the time of the baptism of Yeshua, is an anchor that the believer attaches to himself when he attempts to walk in The Way. Why? Because this doctrine is the foundation of an entirely different (carnal) mindset than what was taught by the Lord himself -- and it is this (spiritual) mindset that the Lord made reference to as the "good ground" within which the seed of the Word must be planted in order to mature and multiply by a hundred fold.

The importance is demonstrated in the Lord's teaching of what is elementary and fundamental in order to even begin to be called a Christian. In the parable of the sower and the seed (Mt 13:1-23; Mk 4:1-34; Lk 8:4-15), it is this ground -- or mindset attached to a consecrated lifestyle -- that is the key factor that determines the effectiveness of the Word. Anyone who toils in the earth in the endeavor to bring forth a mature and developed plant, knows that it is the conditions of the earth within which the seed is planted, that makes the paramount difference in the eventual results.

With respect to this all-important parable that Yeshua taught was the very fundamental element of Christian teachings, we must recognize that we are the ground upon which the Sacred Word is implanted -- and the results of the harvest will be directly proportionate to our ability to become molded into the necessary spiritual environment that is required to bring forth a manifestation of the Living Word. If the soil conditions are rocky with the fossilized, petrified and solidified doctrines of men -- or the materialistic thorns of this world -- then the harvest that you seek -- the harvest of spiritual fruit that is magnified a hundred times -- can never come to pass in your life. It will make no difference how much money you donate to the church -- how many songs of praise you sing telling God how Good He is -- how often you proclaim your allegiance to the Lord -- unless you make yourself the "good ground", you cannot bring forth the fruit of the Word within you! Moreover, you may be highly esteemed among men -- you may even be viewed as a great preacher, prophet and teacher of the word -- but unless you become the "good ground" that permits your physical nature to be transformed into a truly Spiritual and Consecrated Temple of the Light, you cannot receive the promise of the New Covenant.

In the great truths which were revealed in the parables that Yeshua taught to the multitudes, we must understand all that is being said to us, and comprehend that the revelation made in these teachings demonstrates stages of growth that transport the disciple from the limitations of this world, into the full unveiling of the Kingdom to the mind of the genuine follower. The purpose of the scriptures is to assist the believer in the transformation of their carnal self into a truly spiritual being who manifests his true nature as the "offspring of god". There is absolutely no thought in the New Covenant scriptures of man fulfilling the Commandments of the Lord by remaining carnal, and living in accordance with the culture of this world! Unlike modern church doctrine where one either joins up, or professes their allegiance to the Lord, with the result being that one is instantly saved and converted into a full-fledged Christian, what the Lord taught was that there was a process -- a process that must be fully embraced -- a process that brings about the next stages of birth -- in order to transcend this world and emerge at the Kingdom side of where following in The Way transports the genuine disciple.

When Yeshua spoke of the believer as the soil -- and the condition of the soil was paramount to the eventual manifestation of the Word -- what Yeshua was stating was that the good ground can be defined as a certain state of mind -- or mindset -- of the believer. You say you have faith! Faith is good -- but if a farmer attempted to plant his seed in a toxic waist land which would be the equivalent of this culture upon the mind of the believer, we would seriously question his sanity. What’s more, even if the farmer could get his seed to sprout and grow, we would not want to eat the fruit which he would harvest. Thus, when we attempt to plant the seed of the Lord into a mind that has been indoctrinated by the culture and philosophy of this world, we eat of the same fruit of the forbidden Tree that caused man’s departure from the Paradise of Eden.

In grasping the full dimensions of what Yeshua taught, we must see the parable through the eyes of one who himself toils in the earth. The "good ground" represents a mind that is so free of the contaminates and attachments to the elemental things of this world, that it is made the natural habitat and environment in which the Word of God is able to grow to a full state of maturity. With respect to the message of the parable, if we did not know what a mature field of wheat looked like, and have never seen a carefully cultured agricultural plantation that has been groomed and made ready for the harvest, it would be difficult to envision the final results prior to the time that the field was cultivated and prepared for the planting of the seed.

There is an often-told story of the preacher from the city who visited his brother in the country. As the preacher came upon a farm where the crops were growing in fine orderly rows for as far as the eye could see, the preacher leaned over the fence and said to the farmer: Isn't the wonders of God glorious to see and behold. And with that, the farmer scratched his head, and thought for a moment as he gazed out upon the field, and said to the preacher: You should have seen this place when God had it all by himself.

God provided the potential for that wondrous field. But before it evolved into its present condition, it was the farmer who labored to clear it of the trees and stumps, rubble, ploughed it, fertilized it, manicured it, and transformed it from a wilderness, to a place that provided food and nourishment for man. The "good ground" that Yeshua spoke of in the parable did not happen by chance -- and neither did the farmer cast his seeds by faith into an ill prepared land -- i.e., someone worked very hard to clear away the rocks, weeds and thorns, and then fertilized and irrigated the land to enable it to bring forth a great bounty in the harvest.

Now the wise man knows that God not only provided the potential, but also the very elements and seeds that the farmer used to transform the once rocky and overgrown field. In this little story we must understand that there are two paramount truths at work here -- i.e., that success is achieved when man and God harmoniously move together to subdue and perfect the potential of this reality. In this respect, the opinion that either God, or man, separately accomplished the final result, is each in error -- and this merging of the two realities is one of the founding principles upon which New Covenant teachings are based.

Faith is the primary element that enables us to begin the work of transformation. If the farmer did not have faith, he never would have begun the process of cultivating the wild wildness that was placed in his hands. And in the same way that in his Epistle James opposes Paul in the statement: "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead" (James 2:26 NAS), in the same way that the farmer proves his faith by the work he does to transform the field, it is the work of the disciple in his endeavor to fulfill God's Commandments that grows the Word a hundred times more than what the Lord originally bestowed upon him. If the farmer attempted to plant his seed by faith, and cast it into the wilderness and uncultivated land of this world, whose fault would it be when the seed failed to develop and bring forth the bounty of the promise.

In the parable of the sower and the seed the transformation of the disciple of the Light is understood in much the same fashion. In the same way that the farmer did not create either the field, the seed, nor the sun, the rain and organic matter that produced the great crop, it was the labor of the farmer that was a necessary ingredient in order to bring about the transformation. This same exact balance is present throughout the teachings of Yeshua -- and especially the parable of the sower and the seed.

God supplied the Word -- and His Laws and supernatural forces can be invoked to bring about the transformation that is envisioned throughout the scriptures -- but the necessary ingredient is seen in the fact that, it is man that must create the necessary environment which Yeshua refers to as the good ground which permits the Word to first grow, mature, and multiply what was originally given in the form of fruit manifest in the life of the disciple.

What the Bible proclaims is that each of us has the potential to become part of the transformational process that God has ordained -- a process that was referred to by a group of mystical Jews as the New Covenant, and which process was more clearly refined by Yeshua in the teachings and concepts of what came to be called The Way. But the problem is that we are again presented with another great paradox -- in that, all these things exist in potential, and it is man that must fulfill the Commandments of the Word in order to make himself the finely cultivated field which Yeshua referred to as the good ground within which the Word of God must be planted in order to bring about the transformation.

In the parables and teachings of Yeshua, the potential of man to embrace the Mysteries of God is only limited by one thing -- i.e., the mindset of the person who first hears the Word, and then works to assist the Lord in bringing about the Divine Vision of God for Mankind in his Life. Yeshua came to speak to mankind about the Truth -- but this Truth can only be realized by the mature spiritual mind -- and this state of spiritual maturity can never be manifest without man's willingness to act upon the Truth that was given.

In our quest to demonstrate this fact, we must ask what the Bible states: In the parable of the sower and the seed (Mt 13:1-58; Mk 4:1-20; Lk 8:4-56), Yeshua taught that the Word could only be fruitful when it was planted in the proper environment. The Word that fell upon the ground at the side of The Way could not become fruitful because Satan takes away what was sown -- and where was the seed sown? "...the word that was sown in their hearts" (Mark 4:15 KJV) -- thus, alienating us from our own true inner spiritual reality.

And who are the people who can be likened to the Word sown on stony ground? The Bible says that they receive the Word with gladness -- in our own time they would be seen as people who proclaim that Yeshua is their personal Lord and savoir -- they call themselves by his name -- and they profess to be the people of God. But are these people who proclaim to have faith and believe truly the followers of Messiah? What Yeshua said was that because they "have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended" (Mark 4:17 KJV).

What does it mean to have no root? The root of man is his connection to the Kingdom within the essence of his being. If this root is healthy, then the Spirit and Knowledge of the Kingdom will flow from its inner Source to bring about the growth of the disciple. If the believer clings to the doctrines and traditions of other men, then the Genuine Knowledge that can only be received from the Kingdom is negated, and the root that carries the life-giving Spirit and Truth is severed.

And who are those people who can be likened to the Word sown among thorns? Again we see the problem arising when these people cling to the things of this world -- i.e., its culture, doctrines and materialism -- anything that draws the consciousness of the believer away from the inner Kingdom and fixates their attentiveness and focus of being in the outer world -- as seen in the words: "And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful" (Mark 4:19 KJV).

Do not permit yourselves to be seduced and deceived: The Bible itself warns that the Word cannot be planted anywhere we choose -- but rather, only in the environment of what Yeshua calls the "good ground". The ramifications of this biblical fact should serve as a warning to the modern-day believer. If all that was required was to have faith and profess the name of the Lord, then there would be no purpose in teaching the concepts found in the parable of the sower and the seed. Moreover, we have the frightening declaration of the Lord to all who would call themselves his followers that: "Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?" (Mark 4:13 KJV) -- or, in the wording of the modern language New Living Translation: "But if you can’t understand this story, how will you understand all the others I am going to tell?"

What do these most profound words mean to us today? Those people who preach that the Word of God is universal to any and all environments -- or, in the manner of Luther they claim that the meaning of the scriptures is plain and that anyone can read the Bible and understand the written word which can be easily understood -- simply do not comprehend the very first principles of what this verse of scripture proclaims to all who would call themselves the people of God. Moreover, the Bible itself puts us on notice that only the people who are the good ground are able to even begin to understand the true meaning of the scriptures -- i.e., "But if you can’t understand this story, how will you understand all the others I am going to tell?"

Why? Why can’t every person today -- and especially those who call themselves Christian -- simply open the Bible in the endeavor to perceive and comprehend the Word of God? It is reasonable to pose the question: Doesn’t God want each of us to know about Him, so that we can believe in His Son? Christians will reason that if the Bible was not the faithful word of God -- and if it were not plainly written so that everyone might read and believe -- and if the written word of God were not universal to all people’s of the earth -- then mankind would be without a means of salvation. The problem is that both believers and non-believers can make little sense of the life they are living, because they lack an understanding of themselves and the true higher reality of mankind as portrayed by the Apostle in his allusion to the Mysteries of God that are incomprehensible to man in is natural state of mind.

Contrary to what we choose to believe in our present time, what the parable of the sower and the seed conveys to us is this: In the same way that we cannot plant seedlings from a fine vineyard in the desert -- among thorns -- or on rocky ground -- neither can we plant the Word of God in any cultural or doctrinal mindset. How do we know this? Because Yeshua said that if we try, then we will in essence be ignoring the very first principles of the Gospel -- and regardless of what we profess with our lips, we will remain spiritually unfruitful.

The Word of God must be planted in the "good ground" in order to grow -- and the "good ground" equates to a teachable mind, a hunger for Truth, and a consecrated life. The Apostle Paul knew this, and in his Epistle to the Romans he portrayed the Israelites as a properly cultured environment, and the people of the nations as a wild olive: "For if you were cut off from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more shall these who are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?" (Rom 11:24 NAS). When you connect this with the following verses where Paul states that those Jews who rejected Yeshua, rejected him because God hardened their hearts, the error that has been published by the Roman Church down to the present time has severely misled the believers today: "I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob" (Rom 11:25-26 NIV).

The warning that to their own demise modern Christians continually ignore, is where the Apostle warns the Gentiles to be fearful that if they, as wild olives, turn against the natural (Jewish) branches, that they should be afraid because they will be cut off: "Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off" (Rom 11:20-22 NIV). The Gentiles not only turned against the natural branches and killed the holy men and women which the Lord reserved as His People, but they destroyed the whole foundation of Israel -- polluting the written word with Pagan and heathen ideas about religion and Creation.

If we desire to return to the truth, then every teaching and concept that Yeshua spoke must be envisioned as an essential truth that sprang forth from the biblical foundation that existed at the beginning of our Common Era. In the same way that a seedling cannot exist apart from the ground within which it is planted, the Bible itself warns us that the purity of the Word cannot flourish within any culture or manner of thinking we attempt to transplant it into. Unless the word that is preached to you is planted and nurtured within the "good ground" and the same biblical foundation as that which Yeshua revealed it from, then it cannot be the genuine Word of God.

From a carnal perspective, we cannot fulfill the commandment of Yeshua where he said: "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matt 5:48 KJV). Who among us is perfect? We can’t be! Why? Because our physical body only supports that part of our mind which corresponds to the three dimensions of this world. Our mind which is an embryonic image of our soul fails to develop, because the vital life-force upon which our intellect rides, pours out into nature, materialism and sensuality, and is thus squandered away and lost. In order for our embryonic mind to develop, this energy must be raised up and channeled within us.

In the parable of the sower and the seed the Word that was sown along the side of The Way was devoured by the birds (fowls) of the air -- which in the interpretation is likened to Satan taking away the Word that is sown in the people’s hearts -- because false beliefs and manmade doctrines based upon the three dimensions of this realm, always inhibit the development of the mind. This is especially seen in the present where our thinking is bound by a quasi-Darwinist philosophical manner of thinking -- resulting in the fact that we can’t even envision the very concept of complete and total spiritual perfection in our present cultural mindset. We therefore reason that because perfection is beyond our human capacity, the scriptures will be fulfilled when God will make us perfect at some later time. The problem is that while this doctrine may make the people of the simple faith comfortable while they sit in their pews on Sunday morning, it is founded upon human reasoning, and is not what the Lord commanded of his disciples.

In the parable of the sower and the seed the very first group of people doomed to failure where the fouls of the air devour the Word of God, is a prime example of why the majority of people today who call themselves Christian not only remain spiritually stagnant and destitute, but it is these same sincere believers who will reject the Nazirene Gospel, and condemn many of its fundamental tenets that have been removed from our present-day Bibles. At Mark 4:3-4 our Bibles read: "Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it" (NKJ) -- and since we know that Yeshua is not speaking about literal birds, we must question what he is speaking of?

In his explanation of the parable when he was alone with his disciples, we can perceive another element of the picture of life that Yeshua is attempting to portray: "And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts" (Mark 4:15 NKJ). In our attempt to comprehend the full depth of what is being portrayed in this parable, the very first message is conveyed in the words that the seed fell by the side of The Way. Unlike the portrayal of the seed sown on rocky ground or among the thorn-bushes, what is presented here is that the people who receive the seed by the side of The Way are those who attempt to embrace the teachings of Yeshua, but because they are not following in the exact footsteps of the Master, what they have received has been taken away by the birds (Satan) of the air.

The astute reader will of course immediately question why Satan is portrayed as a bird? The answer is simple: In scriptures the false prophets and teachers of this world are always portrayed as ravens, vultures and other such birds of prey. Why? Because even though a bird appears to be a heavenly creature -- soaring high above the earth -- these creatures not only feed off the earth, but their source of food is often the flesh of the dead carcasses of fallen beasts. Thus, in view of the fact that from a scriptural perspective food is always related to knowledge, the birds which on the surface appear to be heavenly, are creatures which eat the dead flesh of the earth.

From a New Covenant perspective, the secular Jews known as the Sadducees and Pharisees were likened to birds -- though they dressed in robes and appeared to be godly, they hindered the people with their manmade doctrines and traditions. That the symbology of the birds of the air which deprived the people of a proper understanding of the Word was the case in Yeshua’ day, remains true throughout every era right up to the present time -- i.e., it is the manmade doctrines, traditions and the cultural mindset of this world which robs the people of the Word of God that is implanted within their hearts.

In our modern-day we are burdened by still another type of false doctrine that is perhaps an even greater anchor to the soul than that which was biblically portrayed in the examples of the Sadducees and Pharisees -- i.e., that of the secular prophet. As an example: Shortly after the World Trade Center disaster, former President Clinton gave an address to the student body at Georgetown University. Speaking of the religious tenets of the Arab terrorists Mr. Clinton proclaimed: "This battle fundamentally is about what you think of the nature of truth, the value of life, and the content of community. You're at a university, which basically believes that no one ever has the whole truth, ever, because you're human. It's part of being a human being. It's part of the limitation imposed on us by God. We are incapable of ever having the whole truth". Thus, from a New Covenant perspective, these words of Mr. Clinton’s are living proof of what Yeshua taught -- i.e., that those who dwell in the "outer darkness" (Mt 8:12;22:13;25:30) of this world can never know God -- and is perhaps one of the finest examples of the satanic doctrine of what is portrayed in the parable of the sower and the seed in the symbology of the birds of the air. Moreover, these words which were spoken by a secular prophet, is in fact the equal to any counterfeit religious authority which the church has ever raised up.

"This battle", states Mr. Clinton, "fundamentally is about what you think of the nature of truth, the value of life, and the content of community". No finer words have ever been spoken with respect to those where the seed has been sown on the side of The Way -- i.e., the battle is what you think of the nature of truth. Mr. Clinton, who is a Rhodes Scholar, is by our standards a very intelligent man. Yet, as one who speaks with authority, he is also emblematic of the problem when seemingly intelligent men permit their intellect to be limited by three-dimensional thought and a cultural mindset. Moreover, the problem is seen in the fact that Mr. Clinton is very much representative of the philosophy that is being taught in our educational systems today. The thoughts and mindset which he is expressing, merely affirms the secular-humanist belief that "…no one ever has the whole truth, ever, because you're human. It's part of being a human being. It's part of the limitation imposed on us by God. We are incapable of ever having the whole truth" -- and it is this generic Atheist/agnostic type of thinking that is prevalent among the greater majority of people today. Thus, this philosophy of thought is a prime example of the seed which is sown by the side of The Way, because it represents a mindset that insures the spiritual demise of both believers and non-believers alike.

From a biblical perspective, the only "…limitation imposed on us by God", is that we can never possess any greater amount of truth than we are able to live and manifest in our lives. Moreover, if we ever questioned this statement, the whole of the parable of the sower and the seed is intended to make this great truth very plain to the reader. In the Nazirene Gospel the seeds that fall on the side of The Way are presented a little differently; as seen in the words: "Hear also the parable of the sower. The seed that falls by the wayside are like the unheard words of the kingdom. One hears but does not understand these heavenly seeds. Then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in ones heart. These are they the ones who receive seed by the wayside"

In the parable of the sower and the seed lies the answer to the enigma of which Mr. Clinton and those who dwell in the "outer darkness" of this world speak. The key is in the seeds which can be likened to "…the unheard words of the Kingdom". These words of the Kingdom have been continually presented to mankind in an uncountable number of ways -- but "…one hears but does not understand these heavenly seeds" because the quasi-religious doctrines, the philosophical speculations which are taught in our systems of education, and the traditions and manner of thinking of our culture and society "…catches away that which was sown in ones heart".

From a biblical perspective we must pose the question: Has Mr. Clinton ever attempted to live a lifestyle in strict accord with the teachings of Yeshua as revealed in the New Covenant scriptures? While it is easy to conclude that Mr. Clinton has not, again he is merely emblematic of the scholars and whole system of intellectual pursuits that is representative of the times in which we live. Men and women of an elevated intellect believe they can totally ignore the fundamentals of New Covenant teachings -- i.e., live their daily lives in accordance with the culture and thinking of this world -- and still arrive at an enlightened understanding of both life and the meaning of the scriptures. In doing so they have taken the position that Yeshua was in error in the very essence of what he taught when he conveyed the great truth in the words: "Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?" (Mark 4:13 KJV)

The problem is that before we can even begin to hear and comprehend the "unheard words of the Kingdom… which is sown in our hearts", we must first become a fit and consecrated vessel for the Lord to enter within us and teach us. I have already demonstrated that those who learned at the Master’s feet believed in the pre-existence of the soul, and that man fulfills the requirements of the scriptures to be "perfect, as our Heavenly Father is perfect" (Mt 5:48), over the course of many lives in the manner we are presently living.

In the third chapter of the Gospel of John we are presented with the requirement that we must be "born again" in order to enter into the Kingdom of God. Because we do not understand the process of birth into the next kingdom, which is that of the soul, many Christians today believe that all that is necessary is to say a prayer and accept Yeshua as one’s personal Lord and Savoir. In the thirty-seventh chapter of the Nazirene Gospel we are better able to begin to comprehend what is required of us:

1.Yeshua sat in the porch of the temple, and some came to learn His doctrine, and one said to Him, "Master, what do you teach concerning life?"

2.And He said to them, "Blessed are they who suffer many experiences, for they will be made perfect through suffering; they will be as the angels of God in heaven and will die no more. Neither will they be born any more, for death and birth have no more dominion over them."

3."They who have suffered and have overcome will be made pillars of the temple of my God, and they will go out no more. I say to you, except you be born again of water and of fire, you cannot see the kingdom of God."

4.And a certain Rabbi, Nicodemus, came to Him by night for fear of the Jews, and said to Him, "How can a man be born again when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born again?"

5.Yeshua answered "Except a man be born again of flesh and of spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of God. The wind blows where it lists, and you hear the sound of it, but can not tell from where it comes or to where it goes."

6."The light shines from the East even to the West; out of the darkness. The sun rises and sets into darkness again; so is it with man, from the ages to the ages."

7."When it cometh from the darkness, it is that he has lived before, and when it goes down again into darkness, it is that he may rest for a little, and there after again exist."

8."So through many changes must you be made perfect, as it is written in the book of Job, 'I am a wanderer, changing place after place and house after house, until I come into the city and mansion which is eternal.'"

9.And Nicodemus said to him, "How can these things be?" And Yeshua answered , "You are a teacher in Israel, and do not understand these things? Truly, we speak that which we know, and bear witness to that which we have seen, and you do not receive our witness."

10."If I tell you of earthly things, and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you of heavenly things? No one ascends into heaven, unless they descended out of heaven, even the son or daughter of man which is in Heaven."

The plight of mankind with respect to his wanderings in this, the "far country" as the prodigal sons, is encompassed in the reality that unless we fulfill the scriptures and "overcome", that we will be forced to "…go out". This is especially seen in the words of Yeshua where he taught above: "The wind blows where it lists, and you hear the sound of it, but can not tell from where it comes or to where it goes. The light shines from the East even to the West; out of the darkness. The sun rises and sets into darkness again; so is it with man, from the ages to the ages. When it cometh from the darkness, it is that he has lived before, and when it goes down again into darkness, it is that he may rest for a little, and there after again exist. So through many changes must you be made perfect, as it is written in the book of Job, 'I am a wanderer, changing place after place and house after house, until I come into the city and mansion which is eternal".

With respect to the relationship of the transmigration (reincarnation) of the soul to Christianity and our plight to comprehend the Mysteries of God today, it was a firm tenet of belief among the spiritual Jews that mankind works out his salvation throughout many lifetimes -- until which time he is able to put on the garment of perfection -- and, like the prodigal son, the soul is able to return to its Father in Heaven. This very mystical Jewish doctrine seen in the Nazirene Gospel is also found word for word in the Book of Revelation where the Lord says: "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches" (Rev 3:12-13 KJV).

Ask yourself the question: What is this passage of scripture saying to us? What is meant by the words: "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out". Setting aside for a moment the fact that if Yeshua was truly God, he would never call God, his God -- i.e., "I make a pillar in the temple of my God" -- most Christian Bible commentaries will remark on the statement with respect to the "pillar" being built in honor of the one who overcomes, but no commentary that I have ever seen has yet to offer a suitable explanation of the words "and he shall go no more out". Why? It is important that we understand why these words are totally ignored by modern-day Christian doctrine? The answer is because this is one of the many verses in scripture that is very difficult to understand from our present-day doctrinal perspective.

This same verse in the New American Standard Bible reads: "and he will not go out from it anymore" -- and in the New International Version it reads: "Never again will he leave it". The problem which these words pose to the modern Christian is the fact that there can only be one interpretation to these words -- and because of the implications of this very clear interpretation, biblical commentaries simply refuse to speculate on the meaning. What the words of Yeshua clearly demonstrate to us beyond any doubt is that there is a coming in and going out of the Kingdom of God, that will continue until one has fulfilled the requirement to "…overcometh".

In the first place we must recognized that in order to return and go out again, we would have had to exist preceding either going in and going back out. This concept, which is very clearly portrayed throughout the Bible in the form of predestination and Divine Providence, creates a problem for the modern church which continues to embrace the thinking of the Emperor Justinian and Darwin. Why? Because it embraces the idea which is known as the pre-existence of the soul -- a reality that represents a great void in our understanding today, and yet is fundamental to even beginning to get a right sense of what is being said in this biblical statement.

From the perspective of the beliefs of the first century Christians, this biblically based teaching pertains to the pre-existent soul of man. In recognition of this fact -- i.e., that Yeshua was speaking of the pre-existent soul -- the biblical text does not say how many times the soul of man has entered the kingdom; and neither does it say how many times the soul of man has gone out. The words "go no more out -- go out… anymore -- never again… leave it", demonstrates that upon entering the Kingdom it is not our first time that we have been there. Further, it is also clear that if the believer has not overcome, and fulfilled the requirements defined by the term "…overcometh", in order to stay and have a pillar built in their honor, they will again go back out. The Bible commentaries that we use today are silent on this teaching because we are unable to even conceive of the question: Go out where? Perhaps this can best be answered by quoting the man who many early Christians believed to be the greatest theologian and scholar in the history of the church -- the third century Church Father Origen, who wrote: "Every soul... comes into this world strengthened by the victories or weakened by the defeats of its previous life" (Origen, De Principiis).

These words of the Christian Church Father Origen are very much an affirmation with respect to the belief in reincarnation in it purest and most biblical form. Yeshua quite plainly taught that: "You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matt 5:48 RSV). Today, a great portion of Christian doctrine that we have inherited from the Church of Constantine -- carnal doctrines that cloud our understanding of Yeshua's true teachings -- comes in the form of dogma attempting to explain away why Yeshua did not really mean what he said, and attempts to prove why man can never be perfect. Yet, the continual theme in the Epistles of Paul is that only those who have attained the necessary degree of spiritual perfection are able to move beyond the milk of the Gospel, and truly understand the Sacred Secrets of God.

As a congregation of believers, we have been disenfranchised from the very spiritual essence of the Gospel, because we have lost sight of the process by which the scriptures are fulfilled. While it is true that it is impossible for carnal man to be perfect, what we fail to understand is that the totality of our being is not carnal -- being created in the image of God, we possess an inherent soul and spiritual nature that is not of this world. This, again, like all the incomprehensible Mysteries of God, is paradoxical in nature. I agree that carnal man cannot be perfect. I again agree with former President Clinton that carnal man can never know the truth -- but from the vision of our own greater reality, man is a great deal more than his carnal nature, and these many statements pertaining to the biblical mandate of perfection are written from the perspective of the pre-existent soul of man -- which is made from the very DNA of our Divine Creator. To say that the man who is whole, cannot be perfect, is spoken from a very limited vision of Creation.

What we must today come to terms with is the fact that Yeshua told us the truth, and he meant exactly what he said. The disciples in the very words of the Bible attest to this fact: "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God" (Acts 14:22 NIV). What this means is that Yeshua really meant the words he spoke when he said: "But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved" (Matt 24:13 NAS). And Yeshua was telling the truth when he said that: "For many are called, but few are chosen" (Matt 22:14 KJV).

Perhaps the difficulty and hardships with regard to entering into the Kingdom is best examined in the words of our Lord when he said: "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it" (Matt 7:13-14 NIV). If Yeshua truly meant what he said, and especially the words that "only a few find it", then there is a very serious problem regarding the relationship between modern Christian doctrine and the foundational principles of what Yeshua taught.

Even more interesting is the very next verse in Matthew that reads: "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’" (Matt 7:15-23 NIV).

In the first instance, Yeshua teaches that there are two paths: The first is the wide gate and broad-way which the masses of people walk to their own destruction. Why? Because in order to return to the Eternal Paradise which is our Natural Habitat, we must manifest our soul and spiritual natures and become Complete. While most people believe they will go to heaven merely because they tried to live a good life -- this attitude is fundamentally quasi-Darwinist -- and living a good life is only part of the equation.

The second is the narrow gate and the narrow road that only a very few people in this life ever find. It is this reality that most people -- and especially Christians -- have serious problems in understanding. Because they relate to the physical body which is their vessel that permits them to become manifest in this realm, and they unknowingly associate the beginning of their physical self with the beginning of the mental self, they reason that whatever they become in this life is the being they truly are. Thus, the fatal flaw in their thinking and mindset is seen in the fact that they become lost because their view of life is in reverse of their true reality.

Of the utmost importance to us today is the warning right after the explanation regarding the two ways where Yeshua warns us to "watch out for false prophets" -- but who are the false prophets? From a more modern-day perspective, the false prophets are those who claim that Yeshua was in error, and that God is all-inclusive! God loves me just the way that I am, many will proclaim. And while this may be true, it is not a matter of love, inclusiveness, living a good life, belief or faith is the historical Christ -- but rather, of walking in The Way and experiencing the next stages of birth that makes us Complete.

The false prophets are those who continue to embrace the doctrines of the fourth century Roman Church, and attempt to tell you that Yeshua did not really mean what he said -- and that by merely believing in him you will inherit eternal life. They come to you appearing as sheep, but "inwardly they are ferocious wolves". Why? Because inwardly they are not part of the Kingdom, and the words that they preach keep you in slavery to this world.

"By their fruit you will recognize them", Yeshua said. Because we have been alienated from the essence of the Word that was embraced by the first century followers of Yeshua, we are incapable of comprehending the fullness of what Yeshua was conveying to us. As Christians we have become accustomed to thinking of works as the rituals and sacrifices performed by the Jews in the Old Testament -- but in failing to realize that the Sadducees and Pharisees were impostors who being carnal, were incapable of understanding the works of Spiritual Jews that Yeshua affirmed as the people who were the genuine House of Israel. That Yeshua came to make known the Spiritual Law and do away with the carnal perception of the Law is clearly seen in his instructions to his disciples in the Nazirene Gospel where he states: "Baptize those who believe and repent, bless and anoint them, and offer the pure Oblation of the fruits of the earth, which I have appointed to you for a memorial of me. I have given my body and my blood to be offered on the cross for the redemption of the world from the sin against love, and from the bloody sacrifices and feasts of the past. And you will offer the bread of life, and the wine of salvation, for a pure Oblation with incense, as it is written of me, and you shall eat and drink thereof, for a memorial, that I have delivered all who believe in me from the ancient bondage of your ancestors. For they, making a god of their belly, sacrificed to their God the innocent creatures of the earth, in place of the carnal nature within themselves. And eating of their flesh and drinking of their blood to their own destruction, corrupted their bodies and shortened their days, even as the Gentiles who did not know the truth, or who knowing it, have changed it into a lie".

The Spiritual Nation of Israel never sacrificed in the temple -- they never dressed themselves in the robes of a priest -- they never observed the Law of Moses in the ritualistic manner of the Sadducees and Pharisees -- and it was not until that discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls that the world became reacquainted with the genuine source of the Jewish/Christian religion, and for the first time since the fourth century was the True Gospel was again revealed to the mind of man. To live in accordance with the Royal Law of God, one must themselves be spiritual, and inflict no harm or suffering to any other person or creature. In fact, the disciple of the Light must cherish the life of all others, even more than their own. This Teaching of Peace is especially seen in the unedited version of the Sermon on the Mount that is contained in the Nazirene Gospel where Yeshua teaches the people: "You have heard that it has been said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy'. Hear what I say to you, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you. Bless those who curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you; that you may be the children of your Parent who is in heaven, and who makes the sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what thank have you? Sinners also love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what thank have you? For sinners even do the same. And if you salute your brothers and sisters only, what more than others are you doing? Don't even the tax gatherers do the same? And if you desire something as strongly as you desire life, and it turns you from the truth, cast it out from you, for it is better to enter life possessing truth, than losing it, to be cast into outer darkness. And if that which costs others pain or sorrow seems desirable to you, cast it out of your heart; in that way you will attain peace. It is better to endure sorrow, than to inflict it, on those who are weaker. Be you therefore perfect, even as your Parent who is in heaven is perfect." Thus, in order to live in accordance with the Royal Law of the Most High, even a desire that causes another person or creature pain, must be eliminated.

While most people will reason that it is impossible for man to be "perfect" -- much less as perfect as our Heavenly Parent -- one of the keys to making the transition from carnal to spiritual is seen in the words: "For they, making a god of their belly, sacrificed to their God the innocent creatures of the earth, in place of the carnal nature within themselves". What this means is that in order to "…overcome", we must understand that the animals which are in the world about us are in fact manifest forms of man’s own lower nature that must be (within himself) subdued and transmuted from the beasts of the flesh, into serving the higher reality of spiritual man.

In order to be a genuine follower of Yeshua and begin the journey of walking in The Way, the disciple must live their lives in accordance with the Royal Law of the Most High God. In the Nazirene Gospel when the disciples asked of Yeshua what they must do to fulfill the works of the Law, Yeshua said: "This is the works of the Law that you believe and live The Truth". When Yeshua commanded his followers and disciples to live their lives in accordance with The Truth, he did not affirm a life where one professes with their lips to believe, while they live in accordance with the doctrines of men or the culture of this world. Thus, the very essence of New Covenant teachings is the reality that if one lives in accordance with the Royal Law of the Most High -- seeks to overcome their divided self -- and searches out the Knowledge (Gnosis) which the Anointing of the Spirit can only impart -- that they will develop and grow through the remaining stages of birth, and return to the Paradise of their Heavenly Parent.

With respect to the eating of flesh, and thereby inflicting pain and suffering upon the creatures of the earth, the Nazirene Gospel teaches: "And again that one asked, If anyone comes to us who eats flesh and drinks strong drink, how shall we receive them? And Yeshua said to him, Let such a person abide in the outer court until they cleanse themselves from these grosser evils; for till they perceive, and repent of these, they are not fit to receive the higher mysteries". Thus, these sufferings which are routinely inflicted upon those who are weaker and the animals of the earth, will impose an insurmountable obstacle for the modern Christian to come to terms with -- but the believer cannot even begin to be a genuine follower of Yeshua while they continue to inflict pain and suffering to the other creatures of the earth.

In the parable of the sower and the seed, the true fruit of the spirit is a combination of truths and strengths that nourishes the disciple in their walk through the narrow path. The seeds within the fruit, is the Word of God that is sown in our hearts. The fruit itself is the mindset of the disciple that nourishes the seeds -- causing them to first sprout, and then to grow into a mature plant that itself feeds the hungry. Fruit, then, is a combination of faith, belief, works, and knowledge (Gnosis) that is taught directly by the Holy Spirit -- in conjunction with, and interacting one with another, thereby causing the seed of the Word to sprout, grow and multiply in the life of the true disciple.

A false prophet is he who publishes his own doctrine -- a doctrine that is founded upon a carnal perception of the word of God -- and removes one of the necessary ingredients from that equation -- and it is this incompleteness that results in a lack of spiritual growth. A genuine prophet and shepherd of the Lord is the one who teaches others how to live in accordance with the Royal Law of the Most High -- and assists them in the journey into The Way where they will be brought into the Presence of the Lord.

Modern Christianity today is a religion of faith and belief -- but faith and belief in what? Since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the renewed understanding of the true foundation of Christian beginnings, we now understand conclusively that our faith and belief is greatly built upon the doctrines of men, rather than the sure knowledge of the spirit. Thus, the faithful flock has fallen prey to the wolf in sheep’s clothing -- i.e., that which appears to be spiritual, but is not!

If all that was necessary to enter the kingdom was to call upon the name of the Lord, why would Yeshua warn that: "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven"? What is the will of the Father? That you grow to maturity and that "You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matt 5:48 RSV). And regarding those who have permitted themselves to be seduced by the false prophet, Yeshua has said of them: "Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’"

The word translated "destruction", as in Matthew 7:14 where it is written that those who walk the broad-way that leads to destruction, the footnote on this word in the Schofield Reference Bible reads: "There is no thought in these various words of annihilation but of something that is ruined and thus unsuitable or unable to fulfill its original purpose". As seed that is sown in this earth by our indwelling soul, when we become lost in the manmade doctrines and culture of this world, and thereby become alienated from our true self, it can then be said of us that in our ruination, we have become "…unsuitable of unable to fulfill its [our] original purpose."

What, then, is the fate of those who do walk in the broad-way of life, and do not go on to perfection? What the Book of the Revelation tells us is they do not overcome, and as a consequence of their incompletion, they must again go out into the world where they, in the words of Origen, "come into this world strengthened by the victories or weakened by the defeats of their previous lives" (Origen, De Principiis). In view of this very well defined biblical doctrine, isn't this the same exact message as when Yeshua said that "each [is given] according to his ability" (Matt 25:15 NIV).

For no other reason than the fact that because many of our modern doctrines have been infused with Pagan thought by the Emperors of Rome, we fail today to understand the pre-existence of the soul. The result is there exists a great void in our comprehension of what Yeshua taught to his faithful disciples. At John 9:2, where it is acknowledged that the disciples were questioning him in accordance with their belief that the soul reincarnates -- i.e., Master, did the man sin prior to this life that he should be born blind -- what we fail to acknowledge is the fact that Yeshua, who knew their every thought, not only knew that they were asking if the man had sinned in a previous life, but that Yeshua did not condemn the belief that the soul reincarnates. Why? Because Yeshua himself taught this doctrine to his disciples in what the scriptures call the privacy of the house.

When asked about the cycles of death in the Nazirene Gospel, Yeshua taught his disciples: "As Yeshua sat by the west of the temple with his disciples, behold there passed some carrying one that was dead, to burial, and a certain one said to Him, Master, if a man die, shall he live again? He answered and said, I am the resurrection and the life, I am the good, the beautiful, the true; if a man believe in me he shall not die, but live eternally. As in Adam all die, so in the Messiah shall all be made alive. Blessed are the dead who die in me, and are made perfect in my image and likeness, for they rest from their labors and their works do follow them. They have overcome evil, and are made pillars in the temple of my God, and they go out no more, for they rest in the eternal. For them who persist in evil there is no rest, but they go out and in, and suffer correction for ages, till they are made perfect. But for them that have done good and attained to perfection, there is endless rest and they go into life everlasting. They rest in the eternal. Over them the repeated death and birth have no power, for them the wheel of the eternal revolves no more, for they have attained to the center, where is eternal rest, and the center of all things is God. And one of the disciples asked him, How shall a man enter into the Kingdom? And he answered and said, If you don't make below as the above, and the left as the right, and the behind as the before, entering into the center and passing into the spirit, you will not enter into the kingdom of God."

The connection between the Gospel of John and the Revelation must be recognized in view of the fact that they were supposedly both written by the Apostle John. This presents a problem for the many modern Christians who, like Martin Luther, place greater emphasis on many of the teachings found in John than the other Gospels. Nowhere else in the Bible is the term Logos used -- a term which is also found in the writings of Plato and the Greek Philosophers -- and is used by them to denote the Mind of God, which in our Bibles Christians translate the Word.

The problem that arises is we cannot even begin to embrace the doctrine of the Word -- or Logos -- as proclaimed by John, while we reject the means that John wrote we must approach the Logos. When John wrote of the Word and man's endeavor to be born again, everything in what John wrote demonstrates that he had a process in mind that would bring this rebirth about.

It is only when we begin to comprehend the manner in which John envisioned the means that we must approach the Word, that we can truly begin to understand the manner in which all men must come to the Word in order to become complete in the Kingdom. The answer to these long perplexing assertions can only be understood when we begin to make the connection of how Yeshua could speak of the soul as going in and out of the Kingdom in the Revelation, and not to have also taught both the pre-existence and reincarnation of the soul in its quest to fulfill a place of permanent residency when a pillar would then be built in the honor of the perfected soul that "shall go no more out"?

In the words of Peter: "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (2 Pet 3:9 NIV). For it is the will of the Lord "who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim 2:4 RSV). That the doctrine of universal salvation is represented throughout the scriptures is in fact the core belief of the Protestant sect that called themselves Universalists prior to the time when they merged with the Unitarians and became Unitarian Universalists. That the many scriptural passages which the Universalists used seemed to be paradoxically opposed to those used by Luther and Calvin, does not negate either of the two biblical doctrines.

In what would appear to be a contradiction in the words: "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it" -- does not negate the desire of the Lord that "desires all men to be saved" -- which can only be merged and understood in the witness of John when he wrote that only "He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore" (Rev 3:12 NAS).

Again we are presented with a biblical paradox: From the perspective of the teachings of Yeshua, there is no need for the Christian to reincarnate. In fact, if a person is truly a Christian, and has become one who is considered of the House of Israel, then the whole concept of reincarnation would be viewed as unnecessary. This is especially seen in the above words of Yeshua in the Nazirene Gospel where he teaches: "But for them that have done good and attained to perfection, there is endless rest and they go into life everlasting. They rest in the eternal. Over them the repeated death and birth have no power, for them the wheel of the eternal revolves no more, for they have attained to the center, where is eternal rest, and the center of all things is God". But there is a biblical requirement that each Christian must attain to, which cannot be negated by our creation of the many doctrinal attempts to explain away the very purpose of life itself -- which requirement is seen in the ability for the believer to fulfill the Word of God, and "overcome". From a biblical perspective, only one who has overcome is a genuine Christian, and such a person should give no thought to reincarnation.

Again the paradox -- i.e., in one respect, it could be said that the doctrine of reincarnation should not even be considered a Christian teaching. By definition, true Christians are not casual believers -- but rather, a true Christian (one of an Anointed Mind) are those who overcome and go out no more. In this respect the concept of perpetual redemption which is espoused by our churches today, simply has no place in the original and genuine teachings of The Way. Yeshua was not the Master of sin, moral failure, and perpetual redemption, as seen in the words of the Apostle: "But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor" (Gal 2:17-18 NKJ). Again, turning to the writings of the Apostle John who is clearly commanding the followers of Messiah to "sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee" (John 5:14 KJV).

The original teachings of Yeshua with respect to living a sinless life can be seen in the Nazirene Gospel where the Master warns his followers and disciples: "Now, Yeshua had said to His disciples, Woe to the man who receives the mysteries, and falls into sin thereafter. For such there is no place of repentance in this cycle, seeing they have crucified afresh the divine offspring of God and man, and put the Messiah within them to an open shame. Such are worse than the beasts, whom you ignorantly affirm to perish, for in your scriptures it is written, That which befalls the beast befalls the sons of men. All live one breath, as the one dies so dies the other, so that a man has no pre- eminence over a beast, for all go to the same place--all come from the dust and return to the dust together. These things Yeshua spoke concerning those who were not regenerate, not having received the spirit of God within their souls, even the spirit of divine Love, who, once having received the Light, crucified the son of God afresh, putting him to an open shame."

What Yeshua states is that those who "…were not regenerate", which denotes those who intimately embraced the teachings of The Way and have achieved the next stage of birth, are able to enter into Life. Those who have not overcome, are as the beasts who once again return to the dust of the earth. Is this concept which is in direct opposition to the modern doctrine of the church which teaches that man cannot live a sinless life and be perfect (Mt 5:48) represented in the Bibles we use? These words found in the Nazirene Gospel are for the most part quoted verbatim by the Apostle Paul when he warned: "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame" (Heb 6:4-6 NKJ).

In our churches today we perform the ritual of the Eucharist, or Lord’s Supper, and we proclaim that it is for the forgiveness of sins. Yet, the Apostle Paul states that believers who continue to sin, and who partake of the bread and wine of the Lord, drink damnation and judgment to themselves: "Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep" (1 Cor 11:27-30 NKJ).

The Disciple Peter in like manner equates those who sin and dwell in accordance with this world, to be as "brute beasts" -- further stating that those who call themselves the followers of Yeshua and continue to sin, would have been better off never even having heard the Gospel: "But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, beguiling unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man's voice restrained the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Yeshua Messiah, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: ‘A dog returns to his own vomit,’ and, ‘a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire’" (2 Pet 2:12-22 NKJ).

That believers who continue to live in accordance with the thinking and culture of this world, receives greater judgment and condemnation than the non-believer, is further declared by Yeshua himself in the words: "And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more" (Luke 12:47-48 NKJ).

How, then, can it be said that the follower of the Lord is saved by grace? By virtue of being a true Christian -- which means that one has embraced a lifestyle where one fulfills the commandment of Yeshua and "sins no more", such a person inherits grace, and is freed from the Law -- which in every respect is really the law of retribution and rebirth. There is no finer example of the plight of those under the Law than the saying of "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth". That those who seek to live and dwell in the Light are freed from the debts of their own past, and in their change of heart and mind receive the grace of the Blood of the Cross, is seen in the words of the Apostle which convey the truth that the genuine Christian is no longer under Law. The problem is that because we have embraced the doctrines and teachings of carnal men, very few of those who call themselves a Christian, is actually a Christian in the genuine sense of the term.

Throughout the Epistles of Paul it is clearly seen that the genuine Christian is the one who holds fast to the Word, obeys the Commandments, and does the will of the Father. It must be understood that from the political perspective of the fourth-century Roman Government, these tenets of a truly spiritual religion could not be embraced by the masses of Pagans who were the subjects of the Emperor Constantine -- therefore, the very essence of the Word had to be altered in order to make it acceptable to a political church.

The problem is the genuine Christian cannot ignore that Yeshua set very demanding requirements for those who would call themselves his followers -- i.e., "You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect" (Matt 5:48 RSV). What this fundamentally means is that when Christians profess that they are a believer, they must truly ask themselves if they believe the Lord when he said: "any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple" (Luke 14:33 NIV)?

In application it can be reasonably demonstrated that these examples represent just two of many such commandments that are required of those who call themselves the followers of Yeshua -- commandments that in practice, many people today who claim to be Christian simply do not believe. Like the secular Jews of the first century, they generally have a whole host of doctrines and excuses explaining why Yeshua did not mean what he said. Yet, Yeshua also meant the words: "But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved" (Matt 24:13 NAS). The person, therefore, who does not follow in the Masters footsteps and endure to the end, and overcome, will according to the scriptures "go out again".

From a purely Christian perspective, there is another dimension to the controversy with regard to whether the true Christian would reincarnate. In this respect, let us not be hasty and ignore Divine Providence and the need of God to bring Light into the world. In St. Jerome's 94th Epistle to Avitus he writes: "A divine habitation, and a true rest above, I think, is to be understood, where rational creatures dwelt, and where, before their descent to a lower position, and removal from invisible to visible [worlds], and fall to earth, and the need of gross bodies, they enjoyed a former blessedness. Whence God the Creator made for them bodies suitable to their humble position, and created this visible world and sent into the world ministers for their salvation".

What is written here are a number very important concepts that are totally alien to our thinking today. From a Christian perspective, St. Jerome writes that the soul of man pre-exists the body, and has in the long course of its existence it has many times descended from invisible realms in its fall into the gross bodies that we presently inhabit. One of the things this suggests is that the fall of Adam and Eve in the manner of the parables of Yeshua are not historically speaking of two people, but in fact represent universal truths from the perspective of all of mankind. Secondly, it is important for us to understand the idea that God sends his most mature souls back into the world as prophets and servants for the salvation of the masses. The result of what this conveys is twofold: The souls who have never responded to the Light, and have never made any great effort to seek the reality and essence of man's spiritual nature, are provided with genuine leaders to guide them; and the second is that these mature souls are provided with an opportunity to grow to a level of true spiritual perfection -- in service to humanity -- as did the Master Yeshua.

Very briefly, then, we see that reincarnation is not only in the Bible, and was accepted by the early church, but there is also a whole wealth of other scriptural passages that are either ignored or mistranslated, because they support this religious/spiritual fact -- which is the very process and means by which mankind fulfills the teachings of the scriptures. Further, it is only because of the fact that each of the souls of the people reading this book has lived many previous lives, and has gone in and out of the kingdom many times throughout their long past that few are permitted to remember, that I can with certainty assure each of you that you have it within your ability to know the Truth of Creation.

Many believers today dwell in a state of what the Bible refers to as spiritual darkness and confusion. Why? Because they do not comprehend the fact that one of the paramount teachings of the New Testament is founded upon the knowledge of the pre-existence of the soul -- i.e., you do not need to be taught -- you only need to be taught to remember. With regard to your present condition in this life: To what degree we overcome this world, we will -- in the words of Origen -- "be strengthened by the victories" -- and, to what degree we do not overcome this world, we will be "weakened by the defeats of our previous lives".

What we must understand is that Origen did not introduce alien religious concepts into the Christian religion -- and what he is merely stating is not much different than the words of the Apostle when he wrote: "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shall from the Spirit reap eternal life" (Gal 6:7-8 NAS). Going one step further, what both Origen and the Apostle write is in fact the foundational principle with regard to why some people are inherently given a greater amount of spiritual perception and knowledge than what is given by the Lord to others, as expressed in the words: "And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability" (Matt 25:15 NKJ). That we fail to see why some are born with these greater abilities than others, is a result of our own blindness to what the Bible very clearly conveys to us.

God is not mocked. Those who do not overcome, and again "go out", will live their lives "strengthened by the victories or weakened by the defeats of their previous life". Those who seek to overcome, will move closer to God. Those who do not overcome, will be forced to re-enter the substance of this world and live in accordance with their own deserts. Moreover, only those who possess the knowledge of the soul will remember the trials and victories of what transpired previous to their birth into their present life.

Returning to the verses in the Revelation: "and I will write upon him the name of my God"; which means that we will be received as the Child of God. "And the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God"; thus, we have the Jerusalem and temple of this world which is of the flesh, and the spiritual Jerusalem and Temple which is from above, and of God. "And I will write upon him my new name"; which name that we will inherit is Messiah -- the Anointed Son of God.

And then the Lord said: "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches". The question the Lord is asking is this: Has God granted to you the ability to hear the message of the Lord to the churches? To overcome, from a biblical perspective, you must first learn the differences between the spiritual and secular Jews -- you must learn the differences between the impostor Christians and the genuine Christian -- you must learn to discern between the synagogue of Satan and that of the Lord -- you must know the difference between the Jerusalem of this world which is a pattern, and the Jerusalem from above which is the Eternal City of our Lord. When you become cognizant of these fundamental biblical differences, you must then consecrate your body/mind in the life of the Word, and ultimately learn to enter within the Holy of Holies and worship in the Spiritual Temple of the Lord. Literally, you must learn to endure to the end and overcome, so you will not have to "go out" any more. This is what the Bible conveys to the mind of the disciple!

The Bible openly reveals that the knowledge of the Mysteries of God is beyond the comprehension of the carnal mind. What the scriptures state is that: "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away" (1 Cor 13:10 KJV). We therefore reason that, in view of the fact that we are all human, then it is logical for secular-humanists and the people of the simple faith to conclude that some day God will move in our lives, and we will understand the Secrets of Creation. Thus, to our own demise we see the words of Paul in reverse of what he actually preached. The great truth which the Apostle conveys is no different than the fundamental teachings of the parable of the sower and the seed -- i.e., that when we purify ourselves, and make our body and mind a fit vessel, God will move in our lives and enable us to understand the Mysteries that are beyond the comprehension of carnal man. This cleansing of the mind and body from the defilements of the world is prerequisite to becoming the good ground, and was the consuming focal point of the Spiritual (Gnostic) Christian.

While even in it’s defiled state our Bibles are sufficient to begin our walk in The Way, the Nazirene Gospel restores many of the fundamental truths and teachings which were removed by the Pagan Gentile Church. Read, therefore, not to condemn -- but rather, to weigh and consider very carefully -- and know that it is the promise of the Lord that all those who seek to dwell in the Light, and embrace the Royal Law and the Commandments in word, thought and deed, will know the Truth that will set them free.
